Tougher than an iron wedge
"I have used a carbon bent shaft R30 203cm (custom) Powerhouse for four years with at least 375-400 river days logged. This paddle was used primarily in the southeast. Unlike a fiberglass Powerhouse, the carbon doesn't wear down to the rib quickly. I will note that as with any carbon blade and carbon shaft, there is zero flex when paddling, but tons of power. Proper technique and the neutral bent shaft is the best way to avoid strain. I love the size, strength, and slice of the Powerhouse blades; this thing is bulletproof and a step up from the fiberglass model. Going back to a fiberglass straight shaft and blade feels like a wet noodle in comparison. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the standard Powerhouse. Worth every cent!"
