Exactly what I had hoped
"Exactly what I had hoped for!"
The Athena's smaller-sized blades pull effortlessly through each stroke, for less fatigue in smaller paddlers. Built with our most advanced blade designs, you’ll feel exceptionally light, buoyant strokes while the smooth back face gives a quiet entrance and exit from the water. The Athena is the smart choice for smaller paddlers who have a low-angle style of paddling and want a blade to match their stature.
What is a Factory Second? Factory seconds are structurally sound paddles with minor cosmetic issues, including scratches, porosity, fading, irregularities, and color variation. Most of these imperfections will be found on the blades. Due to constantly shifting inventory, we cannot offer detailed information or photos concerning the condition of a specific paddle. We offer our standard 1-year warranty and 30-day return policy on these cosmetically blemished models.

"Exactly what I had hoped for!"
"Best paddle I've ever had. Weighs nothing, cuts water smooth as silk, super powerful. I love it."
"I started paddling in 2007, had both the Athena and Cyprus...and was happily switching depending on my adventure. I love Werner paddles, the Carbon Fiber makes for a light and lively excursion. Sold everything in 2018 or 19 and am looking to get back into paddling. I've rented a few times, and the rental fleets only have heavier paddles. They don't feel right to me having used the best. I do recommend for a smaller paddler to get the small shaft. My hands get really tired using the standard shaft."
"After paddling with a Werner Cyprus for several years, my shoulders were complaining. I tried to love a Greenland paddle but just couldn't do it. Bought an Athena bent shaft (custom 210 cm) about 7 years ago and wow did it make a big difference! I have since put over 4000 miles on the paddle including two years training for and eventually completing the 300 mile 2023 Everglades Challenge (my Cyprus came along as a spare). The Athena has stood up to everything I have thrown at it and while it is a bit cosmetically worse for the wear it still fits together and comes apart perfectly every time. Wonderful paddle for the smaller/lighter paddler, especially those who cover long distances."
